It’s so random; but I was sitting here thinking about how in high school you vote for the best dressed during mock elections. I remember when mock elections were done my senior year, and it was merely based on whether the person wore all name brand clothes with outfits that were already put together at the store. I was so bothered by this. I just kept thinking, “HOW?! How does that determine if a person is the best dressed? But lets be real, this was just high school and most people honestly didn’t have a clue. Now am I saying that I was the best dressed? No, I’m not saying that at all.
Being best dressed to me has always been about being yourself and expressing yourself through your clothes. It’s about wearing pieces that compliment your body type. I also believe that everyone enjoys a different style. If you can tap into what you love without being worried about what others think, then my friend, you have the key!! I dress for me and I always will. There’s nothing a person can say about my outfit that is going to make me second guess it. I’ve loved fashion and styling since I was little, so this “dressing” thing comes easy to me. Most of my clothes are pieced together from several different stores, and are usually always budget friendly.
I wrote all this to say, “Do you boo!!” Don’t let Society tell you how to dress, unless you KNOW that isn’t your area of expertise 🙂
WHAT I WORE:
Shirt: Zara (I never get to take advantage of the in store Zara sale lucky me, we traveled to Mall of America for my oldest son’s birthday)
Skirt: Royal pink (the one I’m wearing is sold out click here for something similar)
